Help yourself to live, move and breathe more easily
Qigong & Alexander Technique Belfast & Lisburn
I offer one-to-one and small group teaching in the Alexander Technique, Qigong and The Art of Breathing from my quiet studio in Drumbeg, near Belfast and Lisburn. If you are seeking a gentle way to improve your posture, alleviate pain, tension and stress, move with greater ease or reconnect with how you use your body, you may find help here.
Each approach I offer is designed to improve self-healing and give you a practical way to breathe, move and live more freely.
What I Offer
Alexander Technique Belfast & Lisburn
Find ease in movement, posture and breath
The Alexander Technique is a subtle but powerful way of helping you move through life with less effort and more awareness. People often come to me with back or neck pain, poor posture, physical stress from work, or a feeling of being “out of sync” with their own body. Sometimes, they’ve tried many other things before finding relief with Alexander Technique.
In a session, we work together gently at your own pace. You’ll stay entirely clothed, and I’ll guide you with light touch and simple verbal cues. There is nothing to get right and there are no postures or positions to hold. Instead, we explore everyday movements such as sitting, standing, reaching, or walking, and begin to identify and let go of habits that interfere with our natural ease and poise.
People come to the Alexander Technique for many reasons:
To improve their professional performance
Chronic back or neck pain
Fatigue or discomfort from poor posture
Anxiety or stress
Movement restrictions after injury
To pay more attention to their body or improve their posture or movement
A desire to move more easily and confidently
Qigong Classes Online and in Person
Qigong is a series of breath-led, rhythmic movements that promote calmness, focus, and overall well-being. I teach the Shibashi form of Tai Chi Qigong, known for its simplicity and deeply relaxing and healing effects. You don’t need to be flexible or fit, the practices meet you where you are. The movements are slow, adaptable, and suitable for most individuals, including those experiencing stress, fatigue, or physical tension.
I offer group classes online and private one-to-one sessions here in Drumbeg. This is a lovely complement to the Alexander Technique or a meaningful practice on its own.
People with a sedentary lifestyle find Qigong offers a gentle way to reconnect with their body
For people navigating life changes, Qigong supports physical stability and mental clarity
People recovering from injury, grief, burnout, or illness find it helpful for restoring energy and promoting self healing
Performers, teachers, and public speakers use Qigong to calm nerves, centre attention, and align breath with voice and intention.
Breathwork
Reconnect with your breath
My Breathwork sessions follow the approach of Jessica Wolf’s Art of Breathing. It is not about controlling your breath or forcing anything. These sessions will help you to discover how your breath likes to moves through you in each moment and how it both supports and is supported by your awareness posture, and emotional state.
Art of Breathing is useful for actors, singers, speakers, and anyone who uses their voice in a professional setting. It can also be helpful for people dealing with anxiety, overwhelm, or feeling disconnected from their body.
Sessions are quiet, reflective, and offer simple practical tools that help you to unlock your natural breath.
Breathwork can help people dealing with:
Anxiety or stress-related breath restriction
Voice fatigue or performance pressure
Residual breath tension after illness or emotional trauma.
A calmer presence under stress
A renewed sense of physical confidence

FAQs
Is the Alexander Technique suitable if I’m in pain or recovering from an injury?
Yes. It’s beneficial when pain limits your movement or creates habitual tension.
How many lessons do I need?
That is entirely up to you. Some people are happy with what they have achieved after just a few sessions. Others use Alexander Technique as an ongoing practice and integrate it into their lives alongside other things they do for self-care or wellbeing.
Is it like yoga or pilates?
Not to the extent it’s about physical activity, focusing on poses or actively working on flexibility. The focus in Alexander Technique is on how you move in everyday life. However, many people that enjoy the gentle physical nature of yoga also appreciate Alexander Technique.
